The Annual Show is the Pine Island Art Association's major social and fund raising event rolled into one. It is held in the Matlacha Community Building in Matlacha Community Park, where art lovers and serious shoppers gather to see the show and linger afterward to enjoy home-baked refreshments and discuss the quality of our art work. Artists, friends, and visitors come from communities all along the Southwest Coast of Florida. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists and sample Matlacha. Crowds are always large, the art is beautiful and the aura of Old Florida remains. Each year the galleries, shops and restaurants of Matlacha join with us to make our show weekend the largest event of the season on Greater Pine Island. We are a family of artists and together we have produced a beautiful and successful show for 40 years ... a show that delights approximately 3000 visitors each year. From Thursday night set-up to Friday morning Receiving and Judging, the Friday luncheon, then afternoon hanging of the show, it is hard work but great fun. We are always ready for the crowds that are waiting to come in early Saturday and Sunday mornings. Perhaps you would like to register for a class and become part of our Show Team.
